Ann from The Doll House in Gahanna, OH posted this info. on our bulletin Board.

"Just got a news flash from Boyds about the 2004 FoB Instant Kits that I was expecting this week. It seems that there's a quality control problem with one of the pieces, so now we won't be getting them until the END OF FEBRUARY or BEGINING OF MARCH!!! UGH!!! "

(12/16/03) Update On Boyds Charms Available ONLY At Cynthia's Hallmark

News about the Boyds Licensed Italian Charms - $29 each

They are not available yet. Carol, from Cynthia's Hallmark, has been in contact with Storm who oversees the website and she says they hope to have them by Christmas. But it doesn't look like it will happen.

(12/16/03) The NEW Resin Boyds Tracker Comments!

The new resin Boyds Tracker, the new secondary market guide for the Resin Boyds Bears, is available now.
Here are some comments about it.

* All of the pieces are in alphabetical order, but they are not separated by category
(SFMB exclusives, Noah's Ark, Nativity, etc.). A "camera shy critters" section is not included
in this book, so it looks like all who contributed were able to get most of the pieces in on the first try!

* The alphabetical index is followed by a numerical index,
much like the Checkerbee value guides had.

* I love the new book, it is definitely worth the wait! Enjoy!

* I hate to say this after waiting SO long for it, but I am a bit disappointed.
First, I wanted a place in each square to write what edition I had and what I paid for it.
There is no room or no place to do that.

The colors are washed out. The thing that bothers me the most is some really obvious errors
or omissions. I spotted a few and I am sure there are more.

Clara the Nurse, 1E, value $54???? WHAT???

Ms. Griz Monday morning has a Blue and Pink version..only the blue is listed.

Simone De Bearvoire only has one version listed.

Christmas Bear Elf with list I believe was limited to 1872 pieces and was valued at over $1400 in 2001.
Book shows 1,2,3 and AE and values 1E at $787?

Bailey the baker, shows value for the regular piece and not the Clarion piece.

Bailey with suitcase shows only rough version and not smooth version.

I guess my point here is as a collector or maybe someone who wants to become one... how will they know about these other pieces and how will I keep track of mine. I could do it with the CD, but I prefer to pick up my book. I'd like to know what the rest of the resin collectors feel about this. I will say that I do understand this is the first edition and I know things will get corrected when newer editions come out. I am glad I have this...its better than nothing!

* I was one of several collectors who helped with the resin tracker. We were all on a fairly tight schedule to get as much of our collections into the software as possible. I am sure with the next issue will be much better. The people at Bangzoom really want to put out a quality publication without it being cost prohibitive. The CVG also had a ton of errors in it also.

* I think that the software is the best on the market for collecting Boyds.
