2/12/03 - Bet Your Boyds Bucks Day At Boyds Bear Country
 You can cash in your bucks immediately, or play all day and try to amass enough "fake moola" to purchase extra special prizes-like prototypes and other rare pieces. For an admission fee of $35, you will receive 100 Boyds Bucks to bet, Dinner, Entertainment, Admission to a Signing Event with Boyds Designers (piece to be signed must be purchased at Boyds Bear Country that day...no stow-aways from home!), and an Exclusive Piece.
So what happens if you're not lucky at the games of chance and don't have enough Boyds Bucks to purchase prizes? No need to fret-there will be plenty of opportunities to win neat stuff; everyone who attends walks away a winner! Registration deadline is May 15 or when tickets sell out (which ever comes first). 2/11/03 - Gary Was At The New York Gift Show
Fran, one of our sponsors from CT's The Old Blue Barn posted this on our BB:"I want to tell you something my road Rep. told me today. She was working the New York Gift Show this weekend and guess who was there? Gary!! He spent the whole day at the Boyds booth and checking out some of the other vendors. Shop owners were thrilled to see him. He was his old Gary. She had never met him before but she said people were commenting how great he looked. Gee maybe Gary is starting to miss us. What do you think? Naaaa! "
2/11/03 - Storm From Cynthia's Hallmark Adds News To BB
Parade of Gifts (POG) is coming out with a Daisy girl also. Watch for it this spring.A couple of Boyds mistakes you should be on the look out for.
1) The new disquised turtle, Poky, has a tail under his right arm. According to my rep who called Boyds, it isn't supposed to be there. The tag should be under the right arm and no tail. Thanks to one of my customers for bringing it to my attention. This is a factory reject if you find one.
2) The doll Annie with Topper (I think it's Topper) was sent out without any numbers written on her neck. No edition or counting. This was only the first batch that were shipped. Thanks to my rep for bringing to my attention. Happy Hunting!

Betsy sits in a rocking chair on a bare wood-like floor, wearing a pale blue nightdress and matching mop-style cap. Draped across her lap is a 13-star American flag. Her sewing notions sit in a basket on the floor. The bottom quote from Francis Scott Key reads: "And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave o'er the land of the free and the home of the brave." Measures 3-1/4"W x 3-1/4"H. She has brown safety eyes; black, hand stitched nose & mouth; matching suedecloth paw pads; pellet weighted bottom; a red, damask woven ribbon neck bow and is fully jointed. Mary Louise is wearing a crushed black velour picture hat accented at the front with three red fabric flowers and black netting. There is a black satin ribbon bow at the back. 2/2/03 - Boyds Comes Out A Winner Again!
 Congratulations to Potsie Daisydew, Trevor T. Elfbeary with Giddyup, and Annie With Tapper...Keeping in Step. Potsie picked up her award in the Manufactured Miniature Bear category and Trevor T. Elfbeary with Giddyup was chosen to receive an award in the Small Manufactured Bear-Dressed category. Annie with Tapper...Keeping in Step received her award in the Collectible Porcelain Doll Under $125 category. 
Now, the most important thing to remember is Boyds needs your vote to win the Public Choice Awards…so don't forget to pick up a copy of Teddy Bear & Friends and Doll Reader Magazines and cast yer vote. Look for the official Public Choice Award ballots in the July/August issues. |
