"Hi everyone, did ya know if ya check out the FOB Newz and events pages ya will see several of the exclusives or PE's fer QVC. The critters in the news and in the events are different. And ya can put them all tagether fer a great sneak peek at the upcoming show. Of course I can't give ya all the surprises on the show but here are just a few more sneak peeks.

If you wanna play host to Sebastian on his journey across America, here's how Boyds states you can participate!

You must be a current 2003 F.o.B. member) and return your application (online in FoB Newz section) to Boyds by December 1, 2003. If yer name is drawn, you will be contacted by a gal in our F.o.B. department, who will tell you when Sebastian will arrive at yer doorstep. He will come with his very own suitcase, many different outfits and accessories (ready for any occasion and weather), a travel journal, and his very own best friend (for those long nights away from home). You keep Sebastian for no longer than 10 days. What do you do with yer houseguest during his stay? Take this adorable Boyds Bear to work, on errands and outings, document your time together, take tons of pictures, and mail them to Boyds with a letter about your visit.

When your time with Sebastian has come to an end, the F.o.B. department will contact you with the address of his next destination. Pack up your dear companion and send him to his next host - you must cover shipping expenses (we recommend UPS) and provide Boyds with the tracking information...we just wanna keep tabs on thislil' fella and make sure he's enjoyin' a safe and excitin' journey!

I asked Shirley from Covered Wagon Crafts to tell us about her shop and about selling Boyds.
Here is what Shirley had to say:

I've been in business since 1982 and first ordered Boyds in 1991. We ordered them to use in our crafts, our customers wanted to dress them and use them in wreaths etc. When we had people ask for the dressed ones we of course ordered them for them, it just grew from there. The resin followed and we pretty much carry the full line of Boyds.

Crafts was our first line and we have had painting patterns published in magazines and had a line of pattern packets for a time. We carry fabric, paint, cross stitch and a wide range of craft supplies in the shop, so much fun to combine our crafts with Boyds.

The peeker pin (picture below) was the first sewing pattern that I put together; it was alot of fun so may not be my last. I usually do a wuzzie pin for the girls in the Chillicothe delegation to Rosemont to wear, of course wuzzies are getting hard to find.

We formed a club Boyds Scouts of America a year ago after we had several requests, we meet every other month and its such fun sharing our love of Boyds and we have discovered so many things in common. Plus it's so interesting to see what the others collect as a side line and amazing the creativity that comes out at a meeting.

"N.J. Company Recalls Easter Plush Toys
Two Children Have Swallowed Beads in Toy's Stuffing

WASHINGTON -- A New Jersey company is recalling 75,000 plush Easter rabbits, bears & ducks because children may ingest the toys' bead stuffing.

Small Small World, of Englewood, N.J., has received two reports of children swallowing the small beads that came out of the stuffed animals, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said Wednesday. The company did not report any injuries connected with the toys.

The recalled 'Egg Dippers' Easter Plush toys include a white rabbit holding a purple egg, a green rabbit with a yellow egg & a purple bear with a purple egg. The eggs read 'Happy Easter'. The recall also includes a yellow duck carrying a green egg that says 'You're Egg-stra Special'. Each toy is labeled 'The Boyd's Collection, Ltd.' They were sold at department & specialty stores nationwide between February & April 2003 for about $8.

The recall includes four animal plush toys. The white rabbit has a purple egg which reads "Happy Easter," the green rabbit has a yellow egg which reads "Happy Easter," the purple bear has a purple egg which reads "Happy Easter," and the yellow duck carries a green egg which reads "You're Egg-stra Special." Each toy has a permanent label affixed which reads "The Boyd's Collection, Ltd."

Consumers are urged to contact the company for a free replacement toy. The Boyd's Collection can be reached at 1-800-377-3050 between 8:30 a.m. & 5 p.m. EDT, Monday through Friday.
