Alvina Furniss The "list" was compiled of 25 names drawn from those that were at Gary's chat at Rosemont. There will be 2000 total tickets for the Boyds Picnic as I understand. the remaining tickets will be gotten from some sort of lottery of FOB members. The people will have to pay for the tickets. The price hasn't been determined yet. They discussed it at the chat. This is not only the first from fall ‘92 ... but one of the first of the first because she is wearing the earlier darker teal cordorouy dress. An awesome bear in perfect condition, Bailey is valued at $700.00 in the 1999 CheckerBee Collector's Guide for Boyds Plush Animals. Michelle's Gifts (6/15/00) Info about QVC Show! - Barbara G. posted this on the FoB Board:
QVC is not allowing pre-ordering because of abuses. The last time I talked to someone there (2wks ago) the story was that there will be no pre-releasing of information on the pieces. They will be available only when previewed or aired on that show, and they will not even put them on the website until that time, so no sneak previews. They are not giving out information about what is airing or which shows have what.....resins, plush....etc. This could have been avoided if some had not abused pre-show information to buy things out before airing. The complaints about it not being fair to those who only want one piece and can't get it because the item sold out before its airing is what caused QVC to implement this policy. (6/13/00) Boyds/Disney Items! - Boyds will come out with 4 plush and 4 resin, they will be sold as sets (10" plush and resin ornament) in the Gallery stores. This could be happening in late Sept. or early Oct. Oct is the more likely choice ... these will be limited (6/13/00) Next Doll Show! - The next doll show on QVC is in the last part of August. No date yet. (6/13/00) Clarion Exclusive! - an exclusive from Teddys that they had designed just for the Clarion festival......it looks just like the original 1995 Clarion bearstone. Got to see the prototype and is it ever adorable...limited to 25!! (6/13/00) TSV for June 19 on QVC! - This was posted on the FoB Board on Boyds website by Norma on 5/2/00

Ruth, a 6" cream color bear, wears a green floral dress w/a matching floral hat. The 2 ducks - Tily & Quakers follow the lead. Set includes a "How to Keep Your Ducks in a Row". The ducks are 1 1/2" H. The item number is C20978 and is $68.50. It can't be ordered until June 19! (5/30/00) Lois II and Clark II! - Teresa explained how these two came to be on the FoB board: "Lois II was a mistake and was not to be made ... she was shipped by accident ta all dealers as I understand it ... she was a different bear with the same outfit ... and Clark II was ... different outfit and different bear and was for Gold paw dealers and used as a phone special ... Clark II was counted at around 5,100 and Lois II there is no count as she was mixed in with Lois by mistake". (5/26/00) Halloween Special! - A Halloween moose dressed as a pumpkin ... It is a resin and kinda reminds me of the plush bear that had a pumpkin as a tummy. (5/24/00) Why Some Stores Already Have Fall Items Instock! - Why is it that some stores already have fall merchandise and others have not even received their catalogs? Some of the stores have fall merchandise because they are platinum paw dealers ... which means their sales are higher then Gold paw dealers and they get sales and shipping priority. The new catalogs should be out by the end of next week or maybe even before. (5/24/00) RUMOR: Folkstones Being Discontinued ? - Is it true that Boyds will be discontinuing the Folkstones? If the rumor is true, why? NO NO NO we are not retiring Folkstone..Howevuhh, we are doin some repositioning of theeze critters...like all the bears will be part of bearstone even though they are tall and skinney... and so...jest stay tuned for all new things happening at Boyds!! (It's all good things!!!) (5/23/00) Barnes and Noble Exclusive! - Barnes and Noble has a third special Boyds Bear. This one is named Benjamin W. Bear and is the father of Bernice and Bernard. (5/22/00) October 14, 2000 Event piece! - Lizzie Wishkibibbles is adorable and so is the pin that goes along with her. She will come with her own story book! It will sell for around $19.50 and the pin for around $5.00
