(3/31/01) New Boyds For Fall 2001 ! - Boyds Table Top pieces including genuine dishes sometime in June or July, for Fall there will be a line of Men Stuff and a new line of Angels.(3/30/01) Tomorrow is Boyds One Day Spring Special Event ! - Don't miss out on the Boyds One Day Spring Special Event tomorrow, March 31,2001!! "Graffitie...Put on Your Happy Face" is the final piece in the resin Circus Series for 2001! The 3 ½” Graffitie clown bear is seated at his makeshift makeup table-actually a travelin’ trunk-to put on his happy face for the grand finale of the Boyds Circus. Makeup supplies and paint brushes are scattered about the table, which includes a real mirror.
There is also a colorful Special Event Bearstone pin, "Make ’Em Laugh" that you can wear any time ya need a little "pick-me-up." Its' nose lights up…a Boyds first! Their circus pin is available only on March 31, 2001. Remember to always wear it with a smile!
(3/29/01) Boyds Receives 20 More Award Nominations! - Check out the latest News section. Boyds has received 20 nominations - including Collectors Club of the Year!!! Guess the word is getting out about how fantastic your products and club are. Cheers to everyone associated with Boyds!!! Pam It's the National Association of Limited Edition Dealers and its members are hundreds of gift and collectibles retailers across the county (and many are Boyds dealers!). They vote for the products and companies that brought in oodles of business for them during 2000 and with 20 nominations, the Folks at Boyds done good. (3/28/01) Boyds Announces Partnership With Danbury Mint ! - This was on the F.o.B. board:
"The Boyds Collection Ltd.(R) announces its recent licensing agreement with Connecticut-based collectibles company, The Danbury Mint, to produce high-end collectibles featuring animated bears and hares from Boyds' popular plush lines. Danbury Mint will design and distribute a number of cold cast porcelain collectibles including a Christmas tree; a Christmas train; and a die cast truck with cold cast porcelain bears. (3/25/01) Get Them While They Last! - Boyds has a sudden death retirement on all the circus pieces that had the Greatest Circus on Earth printed on them. This includes the 2001 FOB box (which will be redesigned) the Tent Treasure Box, Toot & Boomer, and ALL of the circus themed resins by the end of the year. The only way you could get the treasure box is by buying a kit with the box already in it. Get to the local retailer and get yours before they are all gone ... anything with Greatest Circus on Earth.

(3/22/01) Some Hints On The Fall 2001 Bearly-Built Village Building/Accessories! - This was posted on the Boyds website by LIZ, VP OF STUFF There are 6 new boyds town houses, plus the boyds town limited edition cathedral for fall 01. This will close out the boydstown village at 25 "houses". The 6 are: Trumble's Mansion, The Pub and Grub, Wilson's Book Store, Mr. Pennypincher's Collectible Shoppe, The Boyds Town Police Station (and donut shop), and The Wee Bear Daycare. not enough??? well...there are also three new kringle's village houses. (remember that the first house was Kringle's Retreat on QVC.) there will be a hospital, a reindeer dorm and and elve's workshop. kringle' will be a much smaller village with a total of only 8 houses when it closes in fall of 2002. there you go! now you truly know more than we do ('cause we'll forget something). hope you like the variety. let us know if there's something special you'd like to see in the Bearly Built Villages. bearhugs...liz
(3/17/01) "Sneak Previews" on Fall 2001 Stuff! - This was posted on the Boyds website by LIZ, VP OF STUFF hi everyone! i didn't forget that we promised some "sneak previews" on fall 2001 stuff...so here goes:
bearstones---lots of new ones, so just pick your favorites (no fussing about having to get them all please...buy responsibly). here are some of my favorites...the classic bearytale this time is cindyrella and prince charming (there's a coordinated plush cindyrella), "kimberly" the cheerleader, "amanda & michael" who play the violin and cello (they're part of our "sugarplum orchestra" theme which also has figurines in the wee folkstones and dollstones), "einstein q. scardybear" who is a sleepy scarecrow bear napping in a haywagon, and my personal favorite "hardley hasslefree" which is our "retirement" bear lounging on a large gold pocketwatch. there are also some neat christmas theme bearstones. but the most exciting holiday addition is a miniature creche that lights (2 AA batteries) and comes complete with holy family, tiny urns and the creche which is made of resin and canvas. the entire set will retail around $50 and fit on a shelf space less than 12" wide. we think you'll love it! for dollstones, we created 4 new pieces: "charlotte & emily" who are best friends (could be sisters--they were named for charlotte and emily bronte the writers), "hannah"...a little girl waiting for santa, "lauren" who plays a harpsicord and is part of the sugarplum orchestra, and "heather", a new bride dressing in her big sister's wedding dress (this one was named for my own daughter heather who just got married in february). the wee folkstones are, once again all delicate faeries with nature themes. my favorite is "holly faerieberry" with wings shaped like holly leaves. in purrstones we did 4...including the limited edition "northpole laundry"...mrs. claws and her mouse friend hanging frozen boxer shorts on the line between two candy-striped poles. in plush we have some fun new fabics and new bear patterns... three new wishkabibbles...granny annie, jacob (the dad) and baby mae. and yep...there are new crumpletons too. and in t.j.'s best dressed there the "leafowitzes" in the harvest collection, the "applesmiths" with (you guessed it...) an apple theme, a winterfest collection in ice blue and white, the "woodsbeary" family which is a country lodge story and of course, the sugarplum festival---which includes bailey and her friends in rich plum velvets with fur trim as well as some larger, elegant bears. oh... and for you, ilona, we have three new moose (meese?) of course! well, dear friends, i'm all tired out from spilling the beans, so to speak. actually, we have so much new "stuff" to share that it's impossible to cover. maybe one day next week i can tell you all about a wonderful new collection of angels for fall. but for now...goodnight and bearhugs....liz

(3/13/01) Boyds QVC Show! - Liz Smith did a TERRIFIC job on both of the shows yesterday! Here are some tidbits from the shows: Liz said on the afternoon show that Oscar is NOT in the regular line and is only at QVC! So he is an exclusive! It was stated that the candle toppers do not fit the QVC Valerie Parr Hill candles. They do fit the large Yankee candles beautifully though. Caroline and Benjamin - Caroline was on the regular line but Benjamin is exclusive to QVC. Liz stated that Caroline is no longer available. Edith & James Henry and, also, George & Martha are all exclusive to QVC. Michelle B. Bearsley was a launch, but Liz said she is now an exclusive. She is only available only at the Longaberger Homestead. This darling bear comes with all tags attached including the gold Limited Edition seal. She is 9" tall. On her right foot is embroidered a pink basket and on the other the Breast Cancer Awareness Ribbon. (3/10/01) Memory Book of Rosemont and Reunion Events? - Laura S. is trying to get a memory book together of the Rosemont and Reunion events. "It would consist of pictures of the events and people attending. Pictures would be contributed by everybody and I would just format them and send them off to the yearbook company. I think this would make a really neat keepsake for those in attendance and even for those that don't attend. They could finally put names to faces and get a feel for the events by looking at the book. The cost would run approximately $16.00 plus shipping. The company requires a minimum order of 100 so please let me know if you'd like one. If enough interest isn't shown then I'll shelf the idea. We sent out more letters then seats cuz we were fairly sure not every single person would be able to make it to the convention...this we learn from the 1st and 2nd drawing. now we must get things finalized for the convention and we knew alot of folks wanted to go and we wanted to make sure those folks got the chance to say yes...so we put first come first serve on the letter. (3/2/01) Fall 2001 Boyds! - hi! here's an inside scoop on what's planned for fall 2001... a miniature nativity scene in bearstones, complete with lit creche. not as many characters as the original pageant series, and not stretched out over many years. all this is in the works, and we hope it turns out really neat...but if it doesn't, then we'll keep trying and introduce in 2002. that's all the info for now. hope this helps. bearhugs...liz
