(3/28/02) Boyds Nursery Items at Wal-Mart !! -the new Boyds Bears nursery items? I went last night to buy some diapers and they had a section of stuff. Let's see....they had the complete bedding set, a mobile, a lamp, a diaper bag, bibs and a fleece blanket. They are beautiful!

(3/24/02) Bethy Has Signing At The Doll House !! -
BnB's beary own Bethy will be doing a signing of her Bear Tales & Trails articles at the Doll House in Old Gahanna, on event day April 13... So bring your copy of BT&T, or pick up a copy at the signing. Bethy will be at The Doll House on Saturday, April 13th, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to answer any questions you have about any 'mystery' bears you may have (you can take them with you when you visit). She'll also have some of her personal collection of old and rare Boyds plush on display. You won't want to miss seeing these! We'll have complimentary copies of Bear Tales & Trails for her to sign, for those of you who don't subscribe. Subscribers can bring their Spring 2002 copy with them. Bethy writes the column "PAWSitively Boyds" for Bear Tales & Trails.

Angel Wishes Also for the plush line, there will be a doctor with a stethoscope and a volleyball player. Also another ballerina and a cheerleader bear. In the fall they will introduce an elf toyshop and a Halloween house similar in design to the potting shed introduced in the spring. Each will have accessories included. A new line called Fairy Tots ... little baby fairies. One called giggles, one called ooops ... can't remember the third one mentioned. These are supposed to be some of Jean Andre's favorites... New Christmas stocking hangers. The bear for the October Event Day is suppose to be
a Bear-in-the-Box. It is still unnamed! The 2003 club kit will be a garden theme. The event piece for April is gorgeous! This is going to be going fast ... the base is actually in the shape of the USA... The resin Noah's Ark (which will retire this year) will be replaced with a new series using the Wizard of Oz. The new plush Noah's Ark will have more animals and a Mrs. Noah in the fall. New train cars. There will also be a Mrs. Klausbeary to match Mr. Klausbeary The Wishkins line is now renamed the Wishkadingles. And the Yankee candle deal ... there will be a special candle scent (probably blackbearry) with a special Boyds topper and a special Boyds bear made to match. You might even get the topper for free when you buy the candle and the bear!
(3/20/02) Rosemont Signing & Chat Call-In Day Is This Saturday! !! - The only way you can get into the Boyds Town Meeting or the signing at Rosemont is by calling in and reserving your spot! Here's how the National Call-In Date is gonna work:
On March 23, 2002, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., EST,
2002 club members (Friends of Boyds, of course...that's the only requirement!) are invited to call into our special hot line,
717-633-7080 and press 3, to reserve their spaces.
Signing times will be reserved randomly for Saturday,
and each club member will be allowed to make two reservations
during the call in day (two signings, a signing and a chat,
or two chats....your choice!).
(3/18/02) BnB Pizza Party at Rosemont! !! -
BnB is having it's 2nd Annual Pizza Party at Rosemont on Friday night (6/28/02) from 6pm - 10pm est at the Embassy Suites (old Rosemont Suites). If you want to attend, click here to email me. Please send me your name/s and choice of pizza: Cheese, Pepperoni, Deluxe or Veggie.

Any monies over the cost of the room and pizza will be donated to Char for the HOT Unit in memory of Vanessa.

(3/14/02) Boyds 1st Exclusive Treasure Box by Longaberger !! - Many thanks to Mary for sending this picture to me! This exclusive teapot is designed to resemble the Longaberger pottery line so that may be why it does not have the usual Boyds appearance. It's texture, shiny finish, large size and lack of detail were not what collectors were expecting. It has a bear on the outside with a larger bear on the inside ( all of the other inside items are small). It is different from the others in the trasure box line, but it is an exclusive for Longaberger. Alot of collectors are disappointed in it, but others really like it. What does the Tea For Three refer to since it only has 2 bears?

Collectors have been suprised at how dark the QVC exclusive purple bear is. It is almost black. Other collectors LOVE her! She is sooo soft.

Liz posted this on the FoB board: Hi everyone! First let me say thanks for the kind comments after Thursday's shows. As always, you all make it a wonderful experience! We'd really appreciate it if you told us what you liked best and what you didn't like in the shows...any and all comments are welcome, so just share your thoughts. That way, as we work on the next set of shows, we'll have an even better idea of what you would like to see. Of course the June shows are already set (but we still don't have the date), and we're finishing up August Collector's Day this month, but we have an extra-special live/remote day in the works for the last Friday of September...and this is where we can really try to add some things that you feel were missing in March. By the way...save your pennies (nickles?? dollars??) cause there's a super-special TSV designed for that September day...but that's all we're saying for now. Thanks again and bearhugs...liz
