(5/21/99) 20th Anniversary Seal! - A gold seal will be on all the hang tags of the 1999 Boyds plush to celebrate the 20th Anniversary.

(5/21/99) Mohair Bear Tags! - The first Mohair bears had two different colored tags. The red tags were considered 1st editions and the blue tags. This was too confusing for the collector, so now there are only blue tags on them.

(5/21/99) More QVC Exclusives! - It was announced by Liz Smith during the show that Kensington and Bojangles will only be available at QVC. Did you notice how fast they both sold out when told us they were exclusives!

(5/21/99) Bear given to Mary Beth on QVC! - Liz SMith gave a bear named Nancy D. Bearington to Mary Beth at the end of the last Boyds show on QVC. She said it would not be available till maybe the Fall (August show) or until 2000 sometime.

(5/20/99) QVC's TSV is Boyds! - The TSV (today's special value) will be a Ltd Ed: 25000. It will be available at QVC starting with the show at 11:00 CST. It will be $59.75.

(5/20/99) QVC has different Boyds Doll! - The QVC doll, Cheryl Anne & Ashlie, has brown hair, green eyes, a different bodice, a different pj's hem, and an extra pillow. The doll in the retail line has blonde hair and blue eyes.

(5/20/99) Rosemont CHAT tickets! - Harry and Millie Croft posted this on our Bulletin Board: "Talked to Boyds yesterday because so many people were concerned that they hadn't received their Rosemont tickets. Be patient--Boyds had originally said they would mail in May, and they will--the end of the month is the official time. Incidentally, Gary's coming along and would love get-well cards". Send them to

(5/12/99) 1st Head Bean signing postponed! - Harry Croft heard from Boyds that Gary's first signing (scheduled for June 12) at Amelia's Hallmark in Orem, UT has been postponed because he had elective surgery and will need some extra time to recuperate.

(5/11/99) Hot Rumor! - It has been rumored that an appearance by The Head Bean Hisself on the Donny and Marie show is currently being negotiated. Won't that be fun it it happens?

(5/8/99) BOYDS Fall Plush Event - For the VERY FIRST TIME, there will be a Fall Boyds Plush Event on October 16th. Available on that day only will be the Anniversary Edition "Matthew" bear, which is based on the original 1984 Matthew bear. If you buy $20 worth of other Boyds products, you will be able to purchase "Matthew" for $9.50.

(5/4/99) Boyds on QVC! - 12AM for 1 hr, then 9AM for 1 hr, then 7PM for 2 hrs EDT, May 21st

Item #C57640, "Alexander M. Pattington" 15'" mohair bear. He is a sandy-beige curly mohair with the shaved snout like Mamie and he has a large red & beige checked bow (the usual pattern).

Gary and Marie are rumored to be doing a doll/bear together. It should be on the August Collector's Day show.

(5/1/99) Caren B.Bearlove variation! ! - Tia wrote on our bulletin board that she compared the two Caren B Bearloves that she has and there are several differences in the two - as in they ARE from two different molds. The wings are slightly different sizes with different number of stitches on the patches and diff holes. The safetly pin on the back is diff size and at diff angle. The wire antennas are much heavier and twice the size on one. The one has a brown bottom color and the other white. The bears themselves are slight diff color. The paw print is stamped in a slightly diff place on the back of the base. The brown ring that is part of the eyes are diff colors. The boxes are the same, however, the packing styrofoam is different in the one with the brown bottom. It only has a 1 inch pc across the center. Now to see if there is a third bottom color - the blue, grey I have been reading about.

(5/1/99) Welcome Home Exclusive - Paula sent this info to us while she was on her vacation!! The Welcome Home store has a new exclusive. Her name is Allie Bearington and she is a 12" tan Archive Series bear with brown felt pawpads. She wears a lilac colored corduroy romper that is topped with a chenille sweater that is a very light rose with grey collar, cuffs, and banded bottom with maroon, rose and grey v/w- design on the front and back. She also has a matching lilac bow on her right ear. She's really cute, but expensive ($34.99)

(5/1/99) Please vote for Julia!! - The May issue of Doll Reader has the Doll of the Year awards. Gary mentioned it on the last QVC show so I've been watching for it ever since. Boyd's Julia doll is nominated for a DOTY award. If you buy the magazine, you get to vote. Get your ballot in the mail!
