(11/30/00) Moose News! - Our own Ilona posted this on our Bulletin Board: Alps Exclusives...Meeka, Mukluk, and Mookie arrived today!! OMG...if ya haven't ordered them, RUN and do it now!! They are all wearing beautiful nubby chenille sweaters, Meeka's dark green, Mukluk's dark blue, and Mookie's light beige. Sweaters are trimmed in various patterned ribbon, and 2 of the moosies have on knitted headbands (not hats as we thought) to match their sweaters. SOOOO cute!! "In cooperation with the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, (CPSC or, in Boyds Terms, “The Big Wigs”), the Small Small World and The Boyds Collection Ltd. are voluntarily recalling two models of a 6-inch plush rabbit with articulated joints, Style No. 573300-01 “Natalie Nibblenose” and Style No. 573303-03 “Nickie Nibblenose.” We urge you to check yer collection of critters. If ya find either of these bunnies, cut off both ears (we know, it sounds vicious, but we gotta do what we gotta do!) and mail them, along with your name and address, to The Boyds Collection, Nickie & Natalie Exchange Program, P.O. Box 4385, Gettysburg, PA 17325-4385. You will receive Sterling in exchange for a recalled rabbit. Sterling is an 8-inch grey and white rabbit. Please allow 4 to 8 weeks for delivery. Seems that QVC's quality control was not satsified with our little Malcolm Moose, and therefore he was shipped back for a few nips and tucks maybe?? With all the complaints about the broken Kringle's Retreat, QVC may be giving them a real good once-over before accepting these new items. This might be the reason for delays on other stuff too. (11/28/00) Boyds Yard Sale! - Boyds is having a HUGE yard sale the next four Saturdays near Gettysburg. They're selling OLD HC Accents inventory out of a warehouse on Popular St. Not Boyds stuff.... although HC Accents is a division of Boyds. (11/28/00) Boyds Available at 1-800-FLOWERS! - Check out the Christmas section! Boyds are for sale at 800-FLOWERS!! (11/27/00) Gary's QVC Announcement Rumor! - The QVC Teddy Bear Hotline states that Gary will make a *very special announcement during the 2 hour grand finale of the QVC Mini-series this coming Sat. There is speculation that Gary will announce his retirement. Please remember this is ONLY a RUMOR and it is probably not true. (11/27/00) Boyds Posts Frequesntly Asked Questions! - Boyds has answered our requests for asnwers to the frequently asked questions by adding this section to the FoB Club section of their website. click here (11/26/00) Boyds Rabbit Recall! - Boyds is not doing the recall so that would explain why nothing was on their website. It is Small Small World (whatever that is) (maybe the bunnies were an exclusive from them). The bunnies are NATALIE + NICKIE NIBBLENOSE, 6" BUNNIES. There have been no reports of injuries, but the eyes are a choking hazard so the recall is to be safe rather than sorry.
The recall involves two styles of plush rabbit toys: Natalie Nibblenose and Nickie Nibblenose. They are both about 6" tall with movable joints, and have bows around their necks. Sewn-on tags on these toys read, "THE BOYDS COLLECTION" and "MADE IN CHINA." Natalie Nibblenose is a white chenille hare. A cardboard tag attached to her with string reads, "NATALIE NIBBLENOSE" and "STYLE # 573300-01." Nickie Nibblenose is a French vanilla and white hare. A cardboard tag attached to him with string reads, "NICKIE NIBBLENOSE" and STYLE #573303-03." Click Here (11/25/00) Kringles Arrive Broken or Flawed! - Have heard many complaints about Kringle's retreat arriving broken due to poor packaging by QVC. Also some folks have noticed that when you lift off the roof there is no paint under the corner where the cone shaped piece is. I am not sure if this is supposed to be white, or if it should have been painted. I think that it is to be that way. The Chapel in the Woods, one of the first village pieces had a part of a large tree that was attached to the roof and came off. In that piece they did paint the bottom part to look like the inside of the tree---that was in the front of the piece and is very noticeable. Click here (11/18/00) Liz Comments On Lack of Exclusive Resin on QVC Shows! - This was posted on the FoB Board: "... it looks like we're disappointing quite a few resin collectors so i wanted to share some information. the product development process for resin is much longer than for plush. so it is much harder to make exclusive resin for qvc. that's why you find it as premier editions on the two collectors day shows. in between, on shows like the mini-series, we can normally only offer resin which is on our current line.
