Bethy shared this on our bulletin board: Steve will be doing a signing in Venice on the 29th of November. The store has graciously agreed to let people bring bears purchased elsewhere to be signed. It is a small shop and carries lower end Boyds items but is also full of beautiful cards and novelty items. In addition to some Dandy and Doodles bears Steve hopes to have at least two of his original bears there for sale. It's fine to have people come to have him sign Boyds bears that they have purchased elsewhere. Some of the additional information you need follows: * Day and time of signing - November 29th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. * Store Address: 303A West Venice Ave., Venice, Florida (941-484-2206) * Directions: I-75 exit (Northbound @ mile marker 193 and turn left at end of ramp) (Southbound @ mile marker 194 and turn right at end of ramp). Proceed south on Jacaranda Blvd to E. Venice Ave. at second light. Turn right on E. Venice Ave. Keep going and cross 41 (Tamiami Trail) E. Venice Ave. in now called W. Venice Ave. Cross Center Bridge to be on Venice Island. Keep going down of W. Venice Ave. to Nassau St. S and then turn left. Celebration Corner is on the corner of 303A W. Venice Ave. and Nassau St. S. If you are lucky, you can park along the side of the building. If parking is not available there, go around the block and park in the public parking lot on the right side of W. Venice Ave. |
(11/21/07) Boyds Bear Country™ in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania Announces Seasonal Closing and Store Redesign
Boyds Bear Country™, The World's Most Humongous Teddy Bear Store™, announced they will temporarily close their Flagship Retail store to the public for winter season on December 31, 2007, reopening in the spring.
During this temporary seasonal closing, Boyds will initiate a major store redesign, refreshing many of their whimsical, larger than life displays and the existing floor plan. "Since opening our doors in September 2002, we've made no significant changes to the store's appearance. In light of the reduced tourist traffic during the winter months, we've decided to close to the public and focus all of our creative efforts in executing the redesign. We look forward to a grand reopening in the spring and continuing to delight and surprise the hundreds of thousands of folks who visit with us each year." said Bob Coccoluto, CEO.
Boyds Bear Country™ has not yet announced a specific date in which the store will reopen.
(11/7/07) 2008 Jamboree being held on Monday, June 9
 The three day extravaganza will kick-off on Saturday, June 7 with the Annual Saturday Evening Social, continue on Sunday, June 8 with a Jamboree Warm-Up, and culminating with our 2008 Jamboree being held on Monday, June 9.Details to come after the first of the year, but there's no reason not to start plannin' now. Book yer rooms at one of these fine hotels, and receive a special Boyds rate*. Hope to see ya there! *Rate varies by hotel and only applies to qualifying reservations.
